Coarse filter / sediment filter:
- Protects the water system from coarse impurities such as sand, rust and dirt.
- Fill up with water at the campsite or when travelling without any worries.
- Protect the water pump, boiler and other fittingsfrom damage.
- As a pre-filter for the activated carbon filter to prevent clogging.
- Regular rinsing is sufficient for cleaning (replacement filter available here )
Activated charcoal filter
- Better odour, more enjoyment and removes: chlorine, heavy metals, dyes, hormone and drug residues, PFAS (polyfluorinated chemicals), organic hydrocarbons, microplastics, pesticides, herbicides, fungicides, bacteria, germs and odour and taste-disrupting substances from the water.
- It also contains a fine filter which filters out impurities up to 10 micrometres in size.
- Filter change: According to DIN 1988, an activated carbon filter should be changed after 6 months. Unfortunately, there is no explanation of the operating status of the filter during this time. In other words, whether it is constantly rinsed with water or is stored to dry in the meantime. A water filter that is used less frequently for camping purposes should be changed more often, so we recommend 3-4 months. It is better to change it more often and maintain good water quality at all times.
- Suction cup holder for attaching during the filling process and for clean storage when not in use.
- Water meter to keep an eye on the flow rate at all times.
- Drinking water hose to fill the filtered water cleanly into the tank
When using the filter system, especially with activated carbon filters, the flow rate can drop. This is due to the fine structure of the activated carbon, which ensures thorough filtering but reduces the water flow rate. The inlet pressure also plays a role - and if necessary, check the inlet hose (e.g. for long or thin pipes). Tapping points on campsites do not always provide the optimum water pressure. Ensure that the water flows in the correct direction and is installed vertically to avoid air bubbles. The activated carbon may become saturated after prolonged use - a filter change is then advisable, even if this is not directly reflected in the condition of the water.
